A commercial not a parade

Maybe I wasn’t paying attention in recent years but the NBC Macy’s Parade coverage today was painful.
It has little to do with the parade. Endless shilling for network programs, guests with something to sell, broadway shows. I like broadway shows but this is allegedly a parade.
Painful and obvious promotion tool.
