I have never understood ‘not guilty by reason of insanity.”
If you committed the crime you are guilty.
Now, when it gets to sentencing, treatment, facilities, that is a whole different issue in taking it into account.
But the idea of someone clearly committing the crime being not guilty has always baffled me.
