Lets roast in hell together…….

A friend sent a story about July 12, 1966. Two big events in St. Louis that day. The Rolling Stones played and the Major League Baseball All Star Game was that day.
He went to the Stones. I went to the game.
It was 103 degrees in St. Louis that day. A story reviewing the Stones time in St. Louis said they hid in air conditioning, ran into the arena, performed for a half hour with no encore, and ran back to their limos to the airport.
I would smirk at what a wise choice I made except Busch Stadium was a living hell.
My brother worked for the Cardinals then and I had box seats down in the sun. Right. Mother was sitting farther back and every few innings like an angel she swooped down with cold rags to keep me alive.
I remember very little about the game which was filled with future hall of famers. All I remember is watching Sandy Koufax pitch. I have never, ever, seen a more wicked breaking ball in my life.
Fans by the hundreds were lying in the stairwells.
My final memory was riding home in my brothers car and the air conditioning was overwhelmed and never cooled on the 30 mile drive home.
I don’t wish I had gone to the Stones. It was some experience at the game to look back on.
The key is “look back on”.
