We were seated for dinner at a decent restaurant in Texas where we were staying on the way home.

We were early and the first seated in the dining area. Very quiet.

A big rough cut guy waddles in and sits on the other side of the dining room. And immediately turns on his device to loudly play something. Fortunately, he only did it in fairly quick but loud bursts. As the dining room filled people were seated by him and he still played with it while he ate.

A friend told me someone had a phone conversation during a movie recently. I haven’t had to put up with that thank God.

I can’t imagine when they cut loose with phone service on planes.

I remember we were in a train quiet car going from New York to Philly when some asshole was screaming into the phone while he paced up and down the car. As he took another pass I made eye contact and said “Really?” He just glared and took his show to another car.

Nothing summed up my reaction to this kind of goatish behavior better than a Larry David scene on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

When a moron was screaming into a phone next to Larry, Larry began screaming into an imaginary phone.

The guy got pissed, Larry wouldn’t quit, and the idiot eventually moved on to get away from Larry.

It ain’t easy.
