It’s fun to be fan. You lose your objectivity and that’s ok.

The Chiefs were underdogs at Buffalo and I loved the victory.

Then the Ravens were built up to an incredible extent. Best defense. Best offense. Best quarterback. One writer called them one of the greatest teams ever assembled. Almost every pundit picked them. There will be no analysis of just how the pundits could be so wrong about this game at that is a shame.

So when I watched the Chiefs dominate them Sunday my fandom got an extra boost.

How could the experts be that wrong. The Ravens looked overrated, flustered, pushed around within the rules unlike the cheap shots they took. I thought they were headhunting Mahomes.

The defense is incredible. Not nearly enough is made of just how good they have been.

But then again my fandom puts me in dangerous territory for an old journalist.

So as San Francisco becomes a slight favorite in the Super Bowl I will try not to play that underdog chip card.

But I hope the Chiefs do.
