George Orwell. Animal Farm. 1984.

I read them and enjoyed them years ago.

I am a big fan of Paris, and so when it was recommended that I read Orwell’s account of his time in Paris, I bought it.

Terrific. But what struck me is just what a fine writer he was. I’m a big fan of declarative sentences and quote paragraphs that jump at you with short paragraphs and plenty of action.

He is so good at that.

My admiration of Orwell has increased since he was not only creative, but skilled with that writing too.
