I enjoyed a blast from the past today…..an intermission at the movies.

Brutalist is real long so the director put in a 15 minute intermission, just like a long time ago.

As the screen ticked down the time, I got up, went to the john, and walked up and down the theater hallways before settling in. Delightful.

Unfortunately the second half wasn’t as good but having an intermission still felt good. The moviemaker also playfully began the movie with a brief Overture, another flashback.

While enjoying the intermission I mentioned to another attendee in the hallway how long it had been since I had experienced one. He said “Gone with the Wind?”

Damn. He didn’t look that old. I suggested Cleopatra, rolling back less years.

I’m not urging longer movies. I am a big fan of 90 minutes with my attention span.

But the intermission was a fun trip down memory lane.
