I read lots of celeb autobiographies, full well knowing how they aren’t always very good.

Case in point, Eric Roberts telling his story in Runaway Train.

Eric is a lifelong drug addict who warns us his memory stories may or may not be accurate. Good to know.

How bad was he? His sister Julia Roberts and daughter Emma Roberts didn’t invite him to the funeral of his mother. He waited outside in a car.

One fun story is that when Julia was a young pre-actress, she came to the city to visit him. Eric was friends with Robin Williams who was making it big in Mork and Mindy.

Eric told Robin his sister was coming to visit and to see if he could have some fun with her.

Eric and Julia were in a window seat at a diner. Robin Williams looks in the window, walks in, takes Julia’s hamburger, and eats it as he walks back on the street.

“Was that Robin Williams who ate my hamburger?” Julia asks.

I hope it is true.

Eric explains that he always disagreed with his director and had his own vision for his character. Always.

He admit losing a lot of work over it.

At the end of the book he said he hopes to work with Tarantino and others that he had disagreements with and lost roles.
