I was watching Sam Elliott on Landmen the other night as I was mesmerized as always.

It got me to thinking. As the Oscars struggle and lose ratings every year, wouldn’t it be smart and right to give awards to terrific actors who have never won Oscars. Women and men who have made a deep impression over their careers, maybe always in supporting roles. And do it before they die and you have to clap at a death segment.

I’ll pick two. Elliott, and Scott Glenn. Incredible body of work over the years. I won’t gurgle but you get the point. Neither man has ever won an Oscar and won’t before they die.

A segment showing clips from their careers, now that’s a job in narrowing down, followed by them being honored on stage. I love it.

And you can pick your own choices, I just started with them because I saw Elliott and then I was watching a show about serial killers and Glenn popped into my head warning Clarice “Do not let Hannibal Lecter get into your head.”
