I’m making a sport of it.

Avoid any news story about the presidential race.

It ain’t easy.

I get more than I need to find out just trying to avoid it.

And every time I flip past the nonstop coverage on cable channels or page after page in the New York Times, I long for actual news stories.

What about immigration, what is the current status? Have we made visa checks tougher?

What is the real story on jobs in America? What about real, deep reporting about the homeless and their visibility on many street corners. What is going on?

I could go on and on.

I think the media is complicit in the dumbing and angering of America with an incredible lack of imagination and willingness to thing beyond ratings and knee jerk headlines.
