You would think with social media that it wouldn’t matter anymore where media outlets are based.

But it does.

Decades ago working in the  media in the midwest I used to marvel at how out of touch the eastern based media operations could be with the reality in much of America.

My standard quip, in jest but not in jest, was that all national media headquarters should be moved to Fargo. Or Des Moines.

After Tuesday’s election and all the bad reporting, predictions and tone-deaf babble, I realized the obvious.

Fargo looks better than ever.
