If you read my best movie breakdown you know that I think Laurie Metcalf’s gloomy one note role in Lady Bird is not Oscar worthy.

Well the same goes for Allison Janney in I, Tonya. Does she do a super job playing the

meanest mother in the world without any redeeming qualities of any kind? Sure.

Would I give her an Oscar? Hell no.

That leaves Octavia Spencer, who is always good and I think is one of our best actresses,

in The Shape of Water where she plays another supporting role well.

So I would give it to her. And she has no chance.

The mean mothers will fight it out.

Ugh.
