In a well cleaned Popeye’s. Horns and Haloes

I stopped in a Popeye’s in Longmont one evening on the way to the airport to get my occasional guilty pleasure fix of red beans and rice and a biscuit.
While I was eating there was a large, obnoxious and very sloppy group eating, laughing and playing. There was also a quiet young Hispanic teenager working diligently to keep everything clean in the restaurant.
When the big group loudly shuffled out, he went to work on their area. He actually had to take apart their table to get at all the debris they left behind.
A couple of men were eating nearby.
“People sure are messy” said one the men to the young worker.
“Oh, its ok” he smiled and kept working.
“It’s a shame people are that thoughtless” the guy continued. “I just want you to know that you are doing a great job.”
Another smile. “Thank you.”
I felt like putting horns on the jerks who made the mess.
I felt like putting a halo on the guy who was thoughtful enough to speak to the worker, about what he was seeing.
And the biggest halo on the young man.
