Frosty vs. Rudolph

In grandparent world, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman

are animated Christmas dvd’s that are part of the tradition.

It is fascinating to follow the different script of these two, as well as the animation level at the time they were made.

Rudolph is actually quite sour in many ways. The parents turn on Rudolph for being different. Almost everyone in the reindeer community shuns him. He only is accepted after Santa needs him to get them through a snowy Christmas to shine his light.

But it doesn’t bother the kids, and the stop action animation doesn’t bother them either, although I find it feeling primitive.

And I do enjoy the group sing of Rudolph that we do at the end. And Rudolph does triumph.

Frosty has one bad egg, the magician. Other than that, it is good kids and good intentions and Santa even brings around the only bad character in the end.

I love the spirit, the animation and the sing along too.

Merry Christmas Rudolph and Frosty
