This is one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. I would rate it at the very top if it didn’t have a crack or two.

Finally, someone takes the stereotypes of elites and flyover states and turns them on their heads.

Without giving away much, a New York cliche elite goes to Texas expecting all the worst.

What he finds is something very different and what they find is someone capable of learning and growing.

It is all done with some great bits of humor. The rodeo scene, the family scenes, the Whataburger scenes, all are delicious.

It is not a great movie and without any detail, I question the climax.

But it is so refreshing that what Novak has done made for a really thoughtful and fun American road trip.
