I don’t ride buses?

You are never to old to hear a new one. And I’m old.
We flew back from Texas yesterday. To get us from the Denver airport we book United all the way to Loveland. The part of the trip from the airport to the Loveland airport is by a shuttle bus. United does not fly the 60 miles to Loveland.
We got to the gate to take the shuttle when a woman walked up distressed.
“This is a bus?”
“Yes.”
Where is the airplane?
No plane for this short a run, they use this bus.
‘I don’t ride on buses”.
That one gave me pause.
First of all, don’t say “never”. When people say they would never eat something I always project them starving and staring at it.
Secondly, it isn’t a school bus with concrete seats and windows open with kids screaming. It is a recliner, nice seat pleasure bus.
She frantically told me she had to get her bags off the bus so she could rent a car.
I forgot about her until we loaded and saw her get on the bus like she was a cat on a hot tin roof.
Later waiting for our ride in Loveland to get to the house, a nice lady from Wyoming told me she also heard the woman’s story, adding that she was traveling first class for a business meeting.
I have little patience for these kind of snobs. As my mother so eloquently put it when us kids were acting snotty and refusing something to eat, “Well look whose shit doesn’t stink!”
The bus ride was quite comfortable.
