I’m reading a biography about the Everly Brothers. Every big performer loved them and Bob Dylan was no exception.

He was backstage at one of their performances and they asked if he had a new song they might want to record.

Dylan starts playing his guitar softly doing Lady Lady Lay. Phil Everly thought he heard Dylan sing “Lay across my big breasts babe”.

He thought man we can’t record that. Reportedly Dylan was disappointed they didn’t pick up on it until 15 years later, by which time they had discovered a big brass bed.
