The year of the bad snap

I have never seen a football program struggle with bad snaps from center for an entire season. Until MU pulled it off this year.

It isn’t just the snaps from center that fly over the quarterback’s head. Countless snaps made the quarterback jump up or bend over, always throwing them out of rhythm.

For Coach Gary Pinkel to not solve this is inexplicable and inexcusable.

If you didn’t recruit a solid snapper, and you can’t find one on the squad or on the campus for that matter, you aren’t really trying.

And the media spent almost no time pointing out this game after game problem. But then I guess that would require asking a difficult question.

How many seasons go by where you don’t even think about the snaps from center?

In successful programs, it happens all the time.
