Crossfire just more hot air

I can’t say I had high hopes for CNN’s resurrection of Crossfire.
Still, I watched the opener Monday and it was a half hour of torture.
Bottom line: When the hosts from the left and right engaged, it was somewhat
interesting. There was even a touch of humor.
But the two politicians soon became a glazed over yap zone. Boring.
I think CNN was picked off when the Syria topic shifted Monday from congressional approval for action to Russia’s offer to take care of it.
Still, the program was a yawn.
I would cutback the person in crossfire to one, cutting the yapping in half. And no politician in the crossfire would be even yummier. And I would let the hosts engage much, much more.
Civility between the hosts can still be entertaining. That was the only bright spot from
the uninspiring opening show.
