Penn Station the pits

New York is a great city but Penn Station is an armpit.

You take a train. Hundreds of people stand around one giant information board. At no more than 15 minutes before the train leaves, they post a track, everyone runs like wild animals to a narrow single gate to fight and claw to get down to the track.

Do you believe that system in America today!

We took the train back to New York from Washington D.C. and their Union Station.

You look at information boards scattered throughout the station. They tell you an hour ahead what gate you leave from. There are chairs to sit in a civilized fashion until it is time to lineup orderly and file out to the track.

Is it really that tough New York?
