A writer for the Boston Globe is catching all kinds of hell for saying it is no fun to watch Connecticut women’s basketball team win every game.

It is true that what they have accomplished is something special.

But it is also true that watching them beat the top teams in the country by 30 and 40 points does not make for good television watching.

So I don’t watch them, knowing a blowout is coming, just as I don’t sit and watch

blowout games involving anybody.

So when writers beat up on the Globe guy about double standards and all the politically correct assaults on him, they are ignoring a basic reality. 81-39 just isn’t worth two hours on the couch if you don’t have a rooting interest.
