TV hurts college football

It was just announced that the start time for the big Border War game between CSU and Wyoming will start at 8:15 p.m. in Fort Collins.
Remember when college football guaranteed a Saturday afternoon of color and pageantry, followed by an evening of joy, sadness, many drinks or an early bed?
8:15 p.m.
Brutal for old people.
A whole day to get shitfaced for young people.
A perfect invitation to watch at home and then fall into bed when the game ends at midnight.
At a time when people have more and more options to do something other than sit in a football stadium for four hours, creating a six hour event, the TV time slot does not strike me as worth the degrading of the event.
