Another classic example of greed keeping a series on longer than it should be.

The Americans.

Interesting show about Russian spies posing as Americans. Good characters, action, depth.

But this season is slowed to a complete crawl.

Week after week the badly designed character of the daughter broods over her parents

being a spy. And then the parents brood over her brooding. And then she broods more. On and on.

Groan inducing.

And the finale episode had almost no action and the climax was ……..another year

of struggling with being Russians living as Americans.

They only wrap these shows up when the ratings drops grow, cheapening the quality of what drew people in the first place.

Sad.
