This is my favorite movie of the year.

I use favorite because I can see why some might argue with the “best” designation.

The story is admittedly slight.

But, not only are the visuals fascinating, but the story is enough of a whodunit excuse to get us inside Van Gogh and the people around him in a wonderful way.

If you are a Van Gogh fanatic this movie is a easy sell. They didn’t have to make it this good to get me fired up.

But they did.
