I just saw Phantom Threads. I won’t enter it into the mix of rating the best nominated movies and acting and directing awards. I wouldn’t give it or anyone any award.

It was enjoyable to watch even though the rich bastards depicted should all be rotting in hell.

But catch this (obviously I wouldn’t read this if you want to see this movie).

Daniel Day Lewis’s girlfriend poisons him with mushrooms to make him dependent on

her and when he recovers he even marries her.

He realizes he wants out the marriage and her in his life. So she poisons him again,

but with his consent, as long as she just makes him dependent on her but doesn’t kill him.
