We had a recent car driving trip, covering a lot of ground.

In Waco Texas we stopped at the Magnolia Cafe, made famous by the owners Chip and Joanna Gaines.

The place usually has a long wait but a weekday November morning was a breeze.

And the food was really terrific.

But what made my day was the guy sitting next to me at a bar seat.

I ordered the full breakfast but he got all of that and pancakes.

When it came the pancakes were huge.

Our kind server asked him if he needed anything else.

With a deadpan for the ages he simply said

“A stretcher.”
