We had a group of eight on the Royal Gorge Railroad Thursday, and this was a Trip Advisor reaction. I titled it “Not Bad but hoped for more?

We had a mixed feeling about the trip.
Loading was awkward. Our dome car seats were comfortable. The server was attentive and tried very hard. Our prepaid $25 lunch was really ordinary. It is fun to eat some food and watch the world go by on a moving train in a pretty canyon.
But honestly, the overall trip is underwhelming. The view from the vista car is not that great. You need to go to the open viewing car, which to their credit they suggested.
Our group agreed we enjoyed the experience but would not consider a repeat.
The dome car and meal is fairly expensive and reduces the feeling that you get a lot of bang for your buck.
Everyone was pleasant and our server really worked hard and deserved his tip.
I just had hoped for more from the train experience.Date of experience: May 2021
