A book Mona’s Eyes has been getting some nods and attention.

It is the story about a girl who goes with her grandpa to museums to see 50 great works of art one each day, in New York and they talk over what they see.

This appealed to me and in and of itself there are enjoyable sections.

But this may be the dumbest presentation of a book I have ever seen. As they visit the art you want to see it on the printed page too in some form, right? Nada. Instead they put each piece of art on the inside cover of the book.

So you have to rip off the cover, and refer back and forth to see what they are talking about as you move from painting to painting..

I knew it was bad when my very patient wife was grumbling and shaking her head over having to do hardcover gymnastics to mix and match.
